Work-hardens strongly and is gummy: use rigid setups, positive-rake carbide, heavy constant feed, low speed (~20–30 m/min aged) and flood coolant; rough in solution-treated state and finish after aging.

GTAW/EBW with matching A286 or Ni-base filler; keep heat input low, avoid restraint and re-solution + re-age after welding to restore properties and avoid strain-age/HAZ cracking.
