What is 1.4567?
1.4567 (X3CrNiCu18-9-4, S30430) is an austenitic stainless with 3–4 % copper added to an 18/9 CrNi base to maximise cold formability. Annealed properties of 210 MPa yield, 520 MPa tensile, 55 % elongation and 150 HB, with a formability score of 95, support severe multi-station upsetting, thread rolling and deep drawing; it is normally bought as solution-annealed (+AT), low-carbon and cold-worked (+C700, +C850) wire, rod and bar for A2-70 fasteners. Machinability is low at 38 and corrosion resistance is 304-level (58) with no molybdenum, with service limited to 550 °C. For chloride exposure use the Cu-modified 316 type 1.4578. 1.4567 has a density of 7.9 g/cm³ (0.285 lb/in³), heavier than 68% of stainless steel grades. It melts at 1,400°C (2,552 °F). 1.4567 has a yield strength of 210 MPa (30.5 ksi) and a tensile strength of 520 MPa (75.4 ksi) — weaker than 100% of stainless steel grades. Elongation at break is 55% and the elastic modulus is 193 GPa (28 Msi).

Working with 1.4567
Is 1.4567 easy to machine?
Gummy and work-hardening like 304 (≈45 % of 1212): use sharp positive-rake carbide, heavy positive feed, rigid setup and flood coolant; avoid dwelling.
Can 1.4567 be welded?
Low carbon means no post-weld anneal needed for thin sections; GTAW/GMAW/resistance welding with 308L/347 filler, keep heat input low because 3–4 % Cu increases hot-cracking sensitivity.
Can 1.4567 be formed, bent or molded?
Best-in-class cold heading and multi-station upsetting: low work-hardening rate allows severe upset ratios and deep drawing with minimal interstage annealing; keep tools well lubricated.
