Aluminum 6067

6067 is a low-copper Al-Mg-Si (6xxx) wrought alloy positioned between 6063 and 6061: it extrudes almost as freely as 6063 while reaching roughly 85 % of 6061-T6 strength after a T6 age. It is specified for architectural and light-structural extrusions where a bright, even anodize matters more than peak strength, and is supplied as profile, tube and thin plate. Limits: HAZ softening after welding is significant, service above about 140 °C over-ages the alloy, and thick-section forgings are rarely stocked — move to 6061 or 6082 for those.
What is 6067?

Tempers
Aluminum 6067 is supplied in O, T4, T5, T6, T66. T6 is the default for machined and structural parts; T66 adds a controlled extrusion quench for a further 6–8 % yield at the cost of a narrower press window.
Working with 6067
Machining
Machines well in T6 with polished carbide and light coolant; T4 and O are gummy and smear at low surface speeds.
Welding
GTAW/GMAW with 4043 or 5356 filler; expect the joint to drop to roughly T4 strength unless the assembly is re-aged.
Forming
Bend in T4 and age afterwards; T6 needs inside radii of about 3.5 t. Extrudes at 470–510 °C with a wide press window.
Finishing
Bright, even clear and colour anodize is the reason to specify it; chem film, powder coat and paint all take well.
