Compare all 5 conditionsHide
| Condition · open for datasheet | Best for | Yield MPa | Tensile MPa | Elong. % | Hardness | Conductivity |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
SADefault Solution annealed | Standard as-supplied condition for all pressure-retaining CN7M / 1.4527 castings; maximum corrosion resistance and ductility. | 215 | 480 | 45 | 150 HB | 1.6 % IACS |
Hot isostatically pressed then solution annealed | Choose for thick-section or radiographic-quality pump/valve castings where microporosity must be closed; slightly higher ductility and fatigue life. | 225 | 500 | 50 | 150 HB | 1.6 % IACS |
Spheroidize annealed | Only for non-corrosive, non-pressure hardware — interdendritic carbides and Cr-depleted zones sharply reduce acid resistance and ductility. | 230 | 470 | 25 | 165 HB | 1.6 % IACS |
As-welded deposit | Condition after minor foundry weld repair with Nb-stabilized filler when post-weld solution annealing is impractical; acceptable only for mild service. | 230 | 470 | 30 | 170 HB | 1.6 % IACS |
Centrifugally cast, solution annealed | Pipe, sleeve and bushing forms; the directionally solidified, denser wall gives modestly higher strength than static castings. | 235 | 510 | 42 | 155 HB | 1.6 % IACS |

Working with 1.4527
Is 1.4527 easy to machine?
Gummy and strongly work-hardening — use rigid setups, positive-rake carbide, low speed (30–60 m/min) with heavy uninterrupted feeds and flood coolant to keep the cut below the hardened skin.
Can 1.4527 be welded?
Readily welded by GTAW/SMAW with Nb-stabilized 20Cb-3 (ER320LR/E320LR) filler, low heat input, no preheat; full solution anneal and water quench after major repair restores acid resistance.
Can 1.4527 be formed, bent or molded?
A casting grade — control pouring temperature (~1520–1560 °C) and provide large risers for the wide freezing range; avoid heavy section transitions to limit shrinkage porosity.
