What is E2595?
E2595 is a tungsten-alloyed super duplex covered electrode to AWS A5.4 (UNS W39595), supplied in -15, -16 and -17 coatings and intended for Zeron 100-type base metals. It offers the highest corrosion resistance in this electrode family, with as-welded values around 680 MPa yield, 880 MPa tensile, 25% elongation and 270 HB (27 HRC), and service to about 275 °C. Working with E2595
Is E2595 easy to machine?
Weld deposit is tough and work-hardening — use rigid setups, sharp carbide tools, low speed/high feed and flood coolant; expect ~20 % of AISI 1212.
Can E2595 be welded?
Deposit with DCEP (AC for -16/-17), heat input roughly 0.5–1.5 kJ/mm, interpass ≤ 150 °C, no preheat needed above 5 °C, redry electrodes 250–300 °C to keep hydrogen low and preserve 35–55 % ferrite.
Can E2595 be formed, bent or molded?
Consumable — not formed; deposited weld metal has high yield strength and springback, so any cold straightening of weldments must be limited to avoid cracking.
