What is C95520?
C95520 is a high-strength nickel-aluminum bronze casting alloy supplied quench-and-tempered (TQ50), including as centrifugal castings. Heat treatment produces 725 MPa yield, 965 MPa tensile, 6% elongation and 302 HB (32 HRC) with a corrosion-resistance rating of 80, giving the cavitation and seawater erosion resistance needed for propellers, pump bodies and other marine components. Ductility and conductivity are low (6% elongation, 7% IACS), service is capped near 300 °C, and welding softens the heat-affected zone, so C95800/C95820 are preferred where weldability outweighs strength. C95520 has a density of 7.53 g/cm³ (0.272 lb/in³), lighter than 96% of copper alloy grades. It melts at 1,044°C (1,911 °F). C95520 has a yield strength of 725 MPa (105 ksi) and a tensile strength of 965 MPa (140 ksi) — stronger than 97% of copper alloy grades. Elongation at break is 6% and the elastic modulus is 117 GPa (17 Msi).

Working with C95520
Is C95520 easy to machine?
Machine with rigid setups, sharp carbide (K10/K20) at moderate speeds and heavy positive feed; the hard κ phases abrade tooling and the alloy work-hardens if rubbed.
Can C95520 be welded?
GTAW/GMAW with matching Ni-Al-bronze filler (ERCuNiAl / AWS A5.7) works, but the quench-and-temper strength is lost in the HAZ — re-heat-treat critical parts and preheat 150–250 °C.
Can C95520 be formed, bent or molded?
Casting alloy only: bottom-gate and filter the mould to avoid alumina film inclusions; chill heavy sections and allow ample feeding to limit shrinkage porosity.

What surface finishes work on C95520?
Not anodizable; it self-passivates to a protective alumina/oxide film — polish, shot-blast or leave as machined, and avoid coupling to steel without insulation or cathodic protection.
Surface treatments FabDigit runs on copper alloy parts — pick them in the quote configurator or call them out on the drawing. Each links to its datasheet in the surface-finish library (thickness, specs, call-out, material verdicts).
How much does C95520 cost?
C95520 is a high-cost copper alloy ($$$$), pricier than about 78% of the materials FabDigit quotes. Part price depends far more on geometry, tolerance and quantity than on the raw stock — upload a CAD file for a live quote.
C95520 — frequently asked
What is C95520 used for?
C95520 is typically used for ship propellers, pump/valve bodies and seawater components. In short: highest-strength cast bronze; 302 HB after TQ50; cavitation-resistant marine alloy.
What is the yield strength of C95520?
C95520 has a typical yield strength of 725 MPa (105 ksi) and a tensile strength of 965 MPa (140 ksi) — stronger than 97% of copper alloy grades. Strength varies by condition: see the 2 listed tempers.
Is C95520 easy to machine?
Not especially — machinability is rated poor (28/100, worse than 78% of copper alloy grades). Machine with rigid setups, sharp carbide (K10/K20) at moderate speeds and heavy positive feed; the hard κ phases abrade tooling and the alloy work-hardens if rubbed.
Can C95520 be welded?
With care — weldability is rated fair (45/100).

What is the maximum service temperature of C95520?
C95520 is rated for continuous use to about 300°C (572 °F). Strength falls off well before that limit — check the elevated-temperature data for load-bearing parts.
