Working with C67300

Is C67300 easy to machine?

Free-machining behaviour thanks to lead and the β phase — sharp positive-rake carbide or HSS tools, high speeds, light feeds, short chips; expect ~75 % of C36000 rates.

Can C67300 be welded?

Fusion welding not recommended (lead cracking, zinc fume); join by brazing, silver soldering or mechanical fastening, with good ventilation.

Can C67300 be formed, bent or molded?

Excellent hot workability at 650–750 °C (extrusion, hot forging); cold bending is limited — anneal or design for hot-formed shapes.
