What is C95700?
C95700 is a manganese-bearing aluminum bronze casting alloy from the C90000–C95999 family, strengthened by manganese along with iron and nickel additions. Sand, centrifugal and continuous castings give 330 MPa yield, 655 MPa tensile, 26% elongation and 180 HB (88 HRB), a strength-toughness balance used for ship propellers, heavy gears and marine hardware. Electrical conductivity is only 3.1% IACS, service is limited to about 300 °C and heavy sections need careful gating to avoid oxide entrapment; nickel-aluminum bronzes such as C95820 are preferred for the most aggressive seawater duty. C95700 has a density of 7.53 g/cm³ (0.272 lb/in³), lighter than 96% of copper alloy grades. It melts at 870°C (1,598 °F). C95700 has a yield strength of 330 MPa (47.9 ksi) and a tensile strength of 655 MPa (95 ksi) — stronger than 69% of copper alloy grades. Elongation at break is 26% and the elastic modulus is 110 GPa (16 Msi).

Working with C95700
Is C95700 easy to machine?
Machines like a tough duplex bronze — rigid setups, positive-rake carbide, moderate speed with heavy feed and flood coolant; gummy chips and hard Fe-rich particles cause edge wear.
Can C95700 be welded?
GTAW/GMAW with matching aluminum-bronze filler (ERCuAl-A2/ERCuMnNiAl); remove alumina film, preheat heavy sections 150–200 °C and control interpass heat to avoid cracking.
Can C95700 be formed, bent or molded?
Casting alloy only — good fluidity but needs bottom/tangential gating and generous risering to prevent oxide entrapment and shrinkage; hot working possible around 800–900 °C, cold forming not practical.

What surface finishes work on C95700?
Not anodizable; finished by machining, grinding and polishing to a golden lustre, or shot-blasted and painted with epoxy primer for immersed service; nickel/chrome plating requires careful strike layer.
