Working with C95600
Is C95600 easy to machine?
Machines noticeably better than iron-bearing aluminium bronzes — use rigid setups, positive-rake carbide, moderate speed with generous coolant to avoid work-hardening and built-up edge.
Can C95600 be welded?
GTAW/GMAW with matching aluminium-bronze filler (ERCuAl-A2) works well; remove the tenacious Al₂O₃ film, keep interpass temperature moderate and avoid high heat input to limit hot cracking.
Can C95600 be formed, bent or molded?
Foundry alloy: silicon gives good fluidity and reduced hot-tear sensitivity, but design for directional solidification with chills/risers and degas the melt; not intended for cold forming.
C95600 chemical composition (wt %)
Limits by weight percent from the governing specification, written the way the spec states them — a single maximum for impurities, a range for alloying elements, and the base element as balance. Nominal is the typical mid-range value.
| Element | Spec limit (wt %) | Nominal |

What surface finishes work on C95600?
Takes a bright mechanical polish and develops a protective brown patina; not anodizable — use passivation, lacquer, or electroless nickel/chrome plating for appearance or wear duty.
