What is Inconel 752?
Inconel 752 (UNS N07752; also supplied against N07750) is an age-hardenable Ni-Cr-Fe superalloy related to X-750/751 with an adjusted Al/Ti ratio for higher elevated-temperature strength in turbine and valve service. It is used for hot valve and turbine hardware and is available as bar, wire, forgings and strip in annealed, equalised-and-aged, hot-rolled, cold-drawn and spring conditions; aged material runs about 820 MPa yield, 1210 MPa tensile, 22 % elongation and 36 HRC, with a maximum service temperature of 870 °C. Machinability 15, formability 25 and weldability 30 make it demanding to process, and it must be welded and formed annealed then re-aged. X-750 is the more widely stocked alternative. Inconel 752 has a density of 8.28 g/cm³ (0.299 lb/in³), lighter than 55% of nickel alloy grades. It melts at 1,393°C (2,539 °F). Inconel 752 has a yield strength of 820 MPa (119 ksi) and a tensile strength of 1,210 MPa (175 ksi) — stronger than 87% of nickel alloy grades. Elongation at break is 22% and the elastic modulus is 214 GPa (31 Msi).

Working with Inconel 752
Is Inconel 752 easy to machine?
Machine in the annealed condition where possible; aged material needs rigid setups, positive-rake carbide or ceramic, 15–30 m/min, heavy flood coolant and constant feed to avoid work hardening.
Can Inconel 752 be welded?
GTAW with Inconel 718/A-286 or matching filler on solution-annealed base metal only; re-solution and re-age after welding to avoid strain-age cracking, and keep heat input low.
Can Inconel 752 be formed, bent or molded?
Cold form only in the annealed state with high forming loads and frequent intermediate anneals; hot work at 1010–1175 °C and finish above 950 °C.
