What is ERNiCrFe-11?
ERNiCrFe-11 is a high-chromium nickel-chromium-iron filler (Inconel Filler Metal 152) used for welding Alloy 690 and for dissimilar-metal joints in nuclear and other high-integrity fabrication. It is chosen for stress corrosion cracking resistance in high-purity water — the highest corrosion rating in this filler group at 88 — with as-welded strength near 420 MPa yield, 690 MPa tensile, 40% elongation and 200 HB (92 HRB). Conditions on file cover as-welded, PWHT and solution annealed; product form is drawn spooled wire and cut lengths. Availability is limited and it is normally bought against nuclear documentation, so ERNiCr-3 (Alloy 82) is used where Alloy 690 matching is not required. ERNiCrFe-11 has a density of 8.19 g/cm³ (0.296 lb/in³), lighter than 68% of nickel alloy grades. It melts at 1,343°C (2,449 °F). ERNiCrFe-11 has a yield strength of 420 MPa (60.9 ksi) and a tensile strength of 690 MPa (100 ksi) — stronger than 62% of nickel alloy grades. Elongation at break is 40% and the elastic modulus is 211 GPa (30.6 Msi).

Working with ERNiCrFe-11
Is ERNiCrFe-11 easy to machine?
Weld deposits machine like Alloy 690 — tough, work-hardening, needs rigid setups, sharp carbide, low speed and heavy positive feed.
Can ERNiCrFe-11 be welded?
Deposit with GTAW/GMAW/hot-wire, stringer beads, low heat input, interpass typically ≤150 °C and clean surfaces to avoid ductility-dip and hot cracking.
Can ERNiCrFe-11 be formed, bent or molded?
Supplied as drawn spooled wire or cut lengths; the alloy is ductile enough for wire drawing but is not a wrought structural product form.
