What is Incoloy 800?
Incoloy 800 (N08800, 1.4876, X10NiCrAlTi32-21, NCF800) is a solid-solution iron-nickel-chromium alloy with small aluminium and titanium additions, the base grade of the 800 family. It is specified for oxidation and carburization resistance to about 815 °C at lower cost than nickel-base alloys, in tube, pipe, plate, sheet and bar. Annealed strength is roughly 250 MPa yield, 600 MPa tensile, 45% elongation and 140 HB, with good weldability (score 78) and formability (score 80). Carbon and grain size are not controlled for creep, so use 800H or 800HT where code stress-rupture credit is needed above 600 °C. Incoloy 800 has a density of 7.94 g/cm³ (0.287 lb/in³), lighter than 88% of nickel alloy grades. It melts at 1,357°C (2,475 °F). Incoloy 800 has a yield strength of 250 MPa (36.3 ksi) and a tensile strength of 600 MPa (87 ksi) — weaker than 87% of nickel alloy grades. Elongation at break is 45% and the elastic modulus is 196 GPa (28.4 Msi).

Working with Incoloy 800
Is Incoloy 800 easy to machine?
Machine like a tough austenitic alloy: rigid setup, positive-rake sharp carbide, 20–40 m/min, heavy constant feed to cut under the work-hardened layer, flood emulsion or sulfochlorinated oil.
Can Incoloy 800 be welded?
Readily welded by GTAW/GMAW/SMAW with ERNiCr-3 (82) or ENiCrFe-2/3 filler; keep interpass below ~150 °C, low heat input, no preheat and no PWHT normally required.
Can Incoloy 800 be formed, bent or molded?
Excellent cold formability but rapid work hardening — allow ~50% more press force than 304 and interstage anneal at 980 °C; hot work 900–1200 °C, finish above 900 °C.
