What is ENiCrCoMo-1?
ENiCrCoMo-1 (UNS W86117) is a Ni-Cr-Co-Mo covered electrode matching Haynes 230-type alloy chemistry, depositing weld metal with high creep strength and oxidation resistance up to 1100 °C. Typical as-welded properties are 430 MPa yield, 720 MPa tensile, 38% elongation and 210 HB, with a corrosion resistance score of 80. It is used for combustor and high-temperature furnace fabrication and for superalloy repair. Machinability is low (score 20), electrodes must be redried before use, and dilution from carbon or low-alloy steel has to be limited to avoid hot cracking; ENiCrFe-2 covers lower-temperature Ni-Cr-Fe joints. ENiCrCoMo-1 has a density of 8.36 g/cm³ (0.302 lb/in³), heavier than 54% of nickel alloy grades. It melts at 1,332°C (2,430 °F). ENiCrCoMo-1 has a yield strength of 430 MPa (62.4 ksi) and a tensile strength of 720 MPa (104 ksi) — stronger than 64% of nickel alloy grades. Elongation at break is 38% and the elastic modulus is 211 GPa (30.6 Msi).

Working with ENiCrCoMo-1
Is ENiCrCoMo-1 easy to machine?
Weld deposits machine like alloy 617 — low speed, heavy positive-rake carbide tooling, rigid setup and flood coolant; grind rather than mill where possible.
Can ENiCrCoMo-1 be welded?
Redry electrodes (300–350 °C) before use, weld DCEP with stringer beads, low heat input and interpass ≤150 °C; no preheat needed but keep dilution from carbon/low-alloy base metals low to avoid hot cracking.
Can ENiCrCoMo-1 be formed, bent or molded?
Not a wrought product form — the deposit is used as-welded; joint groove design should allow small beads and easy slag removal.
