What is ERNiCrMo-3?
ERNiCrMo-3 is a bare Ni-Cr-Mo-Nb filler wire matching Alloy 625 composition (UNS N06625, 2.4831) under AWS A5.14, used for GTAW, GMAW, PAW and SAW of 625, stainless steels and dissimilar joints. As-welded deposits reach about 500 MPa yield, 800 MPa tensile, 40% elongation and 210 HB (95 HRB), with service to 900 °C and a corrosion resistance rating of 90/100. It is the default consumable for corrosion-resistant overlay on carbon steel, though deposits work-harden severely and dilution must be controlled. ENiCrMo-3 is the covered-electrode equivalent for manual SMAW. ERNiCrMo-3 has a density of 8.44 g/cm³ (0.305 lb/in³), heavier than 60% of nickel alloy grades. It melts at 1,290°C (2,354 °F). ERNiCrMo-3 has a yield strength of 500 MPa (72.5 ksi) and a tensile strength of 800 MPa (116 ksi) — stronger than 73% of nickel alloy grades. Elongation at break is 40% and the elastic modulus is 205 GPa (29.7 Msi).

Working with ERNiCrMo-3
Is ERNiCrMo-3 easy to machine?
Weld deposit machines like alloy 625: low speed, heavy positive-rake carbide, rigid setup and flood coolant to beat severe work hardening and built-up edge.
Can ERNiCrMo-3 be welded?
GTAW/GMAW/PAW/SAW with Ar or Ar-He shielding, low interpass (<150 °C) and stringer beads; keep dilution and sulfur/phosphorus pickup low to avoid hot cracking, no preheat needed.
Can ERNiCrMo-3 be formed, bent or molded?
Consumable is cold drawn and layer-wound; deposits are ductile but strongly work hardening, so any cold straightening/forming of weldments needs generous bend radii.
