What is Grade 11?
Grade 11 (UNS R52250) is a low-oxygen, palladium-stabilized commercially pure titanium built on the Grade 1 base, giving the best available combination of ductility and crevice-corrosion resistance among the CP grades. Annealed properties are 220 MPa yield, 330 MPa tensile, 30% elongation and 120 HB (70 HRB), with a formability score of 92 and weldability score of 92, in sheet, plate, bar, forgings and welded tube for service to 300 °C. Strength is the lowest of the CP family and the palladium content raises cost, so Grade 7 is used when Grade 2 strength is needed and ruthenium-bearing Grade 27 is the lower-cost equivalent for forming work. Grade 11 has a density of 4.51 g/cm³ (0.163 lb/in³), heavier than 57% of titanium grades. It melts at 1,660°C (3,020 °F). Grade 11 has a yield strength of 220 MPa (31.9 ksi) and a tensile strength of 330 MPa (47.9 ksi) — weaker than 97% of titanium grades. Elongation at break is 30% and the elastic modulus is 103 GPa (14.9 Msi).

Working with Grade 11
Is Grade 11 easy to machine?
Machine like CP titanium: sharp, positive-rake carbide, low speed (20–45 m/min), heavy rigid feed, flood coolant; avoid dwelling to prevent work hardening and smearing.
Can Grade 11 be welded?
Excellent GTAW/plasma/EB weldability with matching Gr11 or Gr1 filler, provided full argon shielding of the puddle, trailing shield and back purge to below ~430 °C; no post-weld heat treatment normally required.
Can Grade 11 be formed, bent or molded?
Best cold formability of the CP grades — deep drawing, spinning and tight bend radii (about 2–3 t) are practical; allow for springback and warm form at 150–300 °C for severe shapes.

What surface finishes work on Grade 11?
Pickle in HNO3/HF to remove alpha case and iron pick-up, then passivate or colour-anodize; avoid steel tooling contamination and never use chlorinated or fluoride-bearing cleaners.
