What is Ti Grade 11?
Ti Grade 11 (R52250, 3.7225) is Grade 1 chemistry with about 0.15 % palladium, covered by ASTM B265/B348. It combines the ductility and formability of Grade 1 (32 % elongation, formability score 90) with enhanced crevice-corrosion resistance for demanding chemical service, and is used as thin sheet, strip, tube and deep-drawn or roll-formed parts. Strength is the lowest in the family at 210 MPa yield and 300 MPa tensile, service is limited to 300 °C, and the palladium addition raises cost. Choose Grade 7 when the same corrosion resistance is needed at higher strength, or Grade 1 when crevice attack is not a concern. Ti Grade 11 has a density of 4.51 g/cm³ (0.163 lb/in³), heavier than 57% of titanium grades. It melts at 1,660°C (3,020 °F). Ti Grade 11 has a yield strength of 210 MPa (30.5 ksi) and a tensile strength of 300 MPa (43.5 ksi) — weaker than 99% of titanium grades. Elongation at break is 32% and the elastic modulus is 103 GPa (14.9 Msi).

Working with Ti Grade 11
Is Ti Grade 11 easy to machine?
Machine like CP Ti: low speed, heavy positive-rake sharp carbide, high feed and flood coolant to avoid galling, work hardening and chip fires.
Can Ti Grade 11 be welded?
Excellent GTAW/PAW/EBW weldability with trailing-shield and back-purge argon; keep the weld and HAZ below ~200 ppm oxygen pick-up (bright silver bead) and never weld in air.
Can Ti Grade 11 be formed, bent or molded?
Best cold formability of the CP grades — bend radii of ~2t are routine; allow for high springback or warm-form at 150–300 °C.
