What is ERNiCrMo-14?
ERNiCrMo-14 is an age-hardenable nickel-chromium-molybdenum filler wire (UNS N06686, also listed as N07725 and Hastelloy C22HS filler wire) that provides a strength-matched alternative to ERNiCrMo-10 for high-strength corrosion-resistant welded joints. It is specified when the deposit must match a high-strength corrosion-resistant alloy base metal in sour or aggressive chloride service, and is supplied as cold-drawn spooled wire and cut lengths for GTAW, GMAW and PAW. As-welded deposits run about 500 MPa yield, 800 MPa tensile, 45% elongation and 200 HB, with service to 650 °C and the highest corrosion rating in this family (score 96). Machinability is poor (score 15) and wire cost and availability are the main constraints; ERNiCrMo-10 is the usual lower-cost substitute where matching strength is not required. ERNiCrMo-14 has a density of 8.73 g/cm³ (0.315 lb/in³), heavier than 77% of nickel alloy grades. It melts at 1,338°C (2,440 °F). ERNiCrMo-14 has a yield strength of 500 MPa (72.5 ksi) and a tensile strength of 800 MPa (116 ksi) — stronger than 73% of nickel alloy grades. Elongation at break is 45% and the elastic modulus is 207 GPa (30 Msi).

Working with ERNiCrMo-14
Is ERNiCrMo-14 easy to machine?
Weld deposits machine like C-276: rigid setups, positive-rake carbide, low speed (~15–25 m/min) with heavy feed and flood coolant to avoid work hardening.
Can ERNiCrMo-14 be welded?
GTAW/GMAW/PAW with 100 % Ar (or Ar+He) shielding and back purge; keep heat input ≤ 1.5 kJ/mm and interpass ≤ 100–150 °C, string beads, no preheat, no PWHT normally required.
Can ERNiCrMo-14 be formed, bent or molded?
Supplied as drawn wire; deposit is very ductile and cold-formable but work hardens rapidly, so bending of clad plate needs generous radii and possible intermediate anneals.

What surface finishes work on ERNiCrMo-14?
Remove all heat tint by grinding, pickling (HNO3-HF) or electropolishing before service — residual oxide film markedly lowers crevice/pitting resistance; no anodizing or plating needed.
