Working with ERNiCrMo-13

Is ERNiCrMo-13 easy to machine?

Deposit machines like Alloy 59 base metal — low speed, heavy positive-rake carbide, rigid setup and flood coolant; it work-hardens fast so avoid dwelling and interrupted cuts.

Can ERNiCrMo-13 be welded?

Use as filler for GTAW/GMAW/PAW/SAW with 100 % Ar or Ar+He (no CO2/oxidising shielding), stringer beads, low heat input, interpass ≤150 °C and no preheat; back-purge root passes.

Can ERNiCrMo-13 be formed, bent or molded?

Only relevant as drawn wire — high work-hardening rate requires intermediate anneals during drawing; cut lengths are springy and should be straightened, not bent tightly.

What surface finishes work on ERNiCrMo-13?

Pickle or brush-passivate weld heat tint before service; grinding/electropolishing restores the Cr/Mo-rich passive film — never anodise or leave oxide scale in acid duty.

Surface treatments FabDigit runs on nickel alloy parts — pick them in the quote configurator or call them out on the drawing. Each links to its datasheet in the surface-finish library (thickness, specs, call-out, material verdicts).

ERNiCrMo-13 is typically used for FGD and scrubber systems, sulfuric/phosphoric acid plants and high-purity chemical processing. In short: alloy 59 matching filler; top-tier acid resistance; hardest deposit to machine.

What is the yield strength of ERNiCrMo-13?

ERNiCrMo-13 has a typical yield strength of 470 MPa (68.2 ksi) and a tensile strength of 760 MPa (110 ksi) — stronger than 68% of nickel alloy grades. Strength varies by condition: see the 2 listed tempers.

Is ERNiCrMo-13 easy to machine?

Not especially — machinability is rated poor (15/100, worse than 76% of nickel alloy grades). Deposit machines like Alloy 59 base metal — low speed, heavy positive-rake carbide, rigid setup and flood coolant; it work-hardens fast so avoid dwelling and interrupted cuts.

Can ERNiCrMo-13 be welded?

Yes — weldability is rated excellent (90/100). Use as filler for GTAW/GMAW/PAW/SAW with 100 % Ar or Ar+He (no CO2/oxidising shielding), stringer beads, low heat input, interpass ≤150 °C and no preheat; back-purge root passes.
