What is ENiCrMo-3?
ENiCrMo-3 is a Ni-Cr-Mo-Nb covered electrode matching Alloy 625 chemistry (UNS W86112) for shielded metal arc welding of 625, stainless steels and dissimilar joints. As-welded deposits provide about 520 MPa yield, 800 MPa tensile, 38% elongation and 220 HB (96 HRB), with service to 815 °C and a corrosion resistance rating of 90/100. Machinability is low at 18/100 and the deposit work-hardens rapidly, so weld crowns are normally ground rather than milled. Use ERNiCrMo-3 bare wire for GTAW/GMAW roots and automated overlay. ENiCrMo-3 has a density of 8.44 g/cm³ (0.305 lb/in³), heavier than 60% of nickel alloy grades. It melts at 1,290°C (2,354 °F). ENiCrMo-3 has a yield strength of 520 MPa (75.4 ksi) and a tensile strength of 800 MPa (116 ksi) — stronger than 76% of nickel alloy grades. Elongation at break is 38% and the elastic modulus is 205 GPa (29.7 Msi).

Working with ENiCrMo-3
Is ENiCrMo-3 easy to machine?
Deposit machines like solution-treated alloy 625 — work-hardens fast; use rigid setups, sharp positive-rake carbide, heavy positive feed, 20–35 m/min surface speed and flood coolant.
Can ENiCrMo-3 be welded?
DCEP, stringer beads, low heat input (<1.5 kJ/mm), interpass below ~150 °C and no weave beyond ~3× core diameter; re-dry electrodes 250–300 °C to avoid porosity and control dilution from carbon steel to keep Fe low.
Can ENiCrMo-3 be formed, bent or molded?
Not a wrought product — weld metal is not formed; peening between passes is sometimes used to control distortion in thick overlays.
