What is CuAg0.07?
CuAg0.07 (CR012A) is a tough-pitch copper with a higher silver content than CuAg0.04, giving further improvement in resistance to softening during elevated-temperature electrical service while retaining 97 % IACS conductivity and 388 W/m·K thermal conductivity. It is used as rod, wire and profile for parts that see heat or brazing cycles, with 350 MPa tensile, 310 MPa yield, 9 % elongation and 100 HB in the default temper and service to 300 °C. It is gummy to machine, and the tough-pitch base can embrittle in hydrogen-bearing flames, so the oxygen-free or phosphorus-deoxidised grades are preferred where fusion welding dominates. CuAg0.07 has a density of 8.91 g/cm³ (0.322 lb/in³), heavier than 80% of copper alloy grades. It melts at 1,065°C (1,949 °F). CuAg0.07 has a yield strength of 310 MPa (45 ksi) and a tensile strength of 350 MPa (50.8 ksi) — stronger than 64% of copper alloy grades. Elongation at break is 9% and the elastic modulus is 120 GPa (17.4 Msi).

Working with CuAg0.07
Is CuAg0.07 easy to machine?
Gummy and low-rated (~20 % of AISI 1212): use sharp positive-rake tools, high speed, generous soluble-oil flood and avoid dwelling to prevent smearing.
Can CuAg0.07 be welded?
Resistance and TIG/MIG welding need high heat input and preheat because of 390 W/m·K conductivity; the tough-pitch base can embrittle in hydrogen-bearing flames, so prefer the oxygen-free variant for fusion welding.
Can CuAg0.07 be formed, bent or molded?
Excellent cold formability in O60; hard tempers should be bent with generous radii or interstage-annealed, and the silver keeps strength after brazing/soldering cycles up to ~300 °C.
