What is C14510?
C14510 is a tellurium copper from the C14500 free-machining family, deoxidized with a controlled low phosphorus addition that improves cold formability while holding a machinability rating of 88. It is used as rod, bar and wire in O60, OS050, M20 and H00–H06 tempers for cold-headed and screw-machined electrical parts, with 93% IACS, 355 W/m·K, 305 MPa yield, 340 MPa tensile and 12% elongation in the default condition. Tellurium rules out fusion welding and service is limited to about 180 °C; C14520 is the closer choice when brazing and resistance welding dominate. C14510 has a density of 8.94 g/cm³ (0.323 lb/in³), heavier than 90% of copper alloy grades. It melts at 1,051°C (1,924 °F). C14510 has a yield strength of 305 MPa (44.2 ksi) and a tensile strength of 340 MPa (49.3 ksi) — stronger than 62% of copper alloy grades. Elongation at break is 12% and the elastic modulus is 117 GPa (17 Msi).

Working with C14510
Is C14510 easy to machine?
Runs like free-cutting brass at high speed with sharp positive-rake tools and light feeds; expect short broken chips and ~85 % of C36000 productivity.
Can C14510 be welded?
Avoid fusion welding — tellurium causes hot short cracking; join by soldering, silver brazing or resistance/friction methods.
Can C14510 be formed, bent or molded?
Half-hard and softer tempers bend and stake well thanks to the low-P chemistry; H04/H06 tolerate only light forming, anneal 400–600 °C if severe work is needed.
