Working with C36200

Is C36200 easy to machine?

Benchmark free-cutting alloy: use zero-to-negative rake tooling, high speeds, light coolant; chips break short and tool wear is minimal.

Can C36200 be welded?

Fusion welding is not recommended because of lead and zinc fume/hot cracking; join by soft soldering (excellent) or low-temperature silver brazing (fair).

Can C36200 be formed, bent or molded?

Hot forge/extrude at 650–750 °C readily; cold bending, staking and knurling only in O60/H01 and with generous radii — H02+ cracks easily.
