Machines like a soft 12Cr stainless (~60 % of 1212): use rigid setups, sharp positive-rake carbide, moderate speed with heavy flood coolant to avoid gumming and work-hardened skins.
Can 410S be welded?
Readily welded by GTAW/GMAW/SMAW with 309L or matching filler; 150–250 °C preheat plus 700–760 °C post-weld anneal is recommended on thick sections to restore HAZ ductility.
