Compare all 6 grades and fillsHide
| Grade · open for datasheet | Best for | Yield MPa | Tensile MPa | Elong. % | Hardness |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Flexible / elastomeric bio-based | Use for gaskets, grips, wearables and soft living hinges; low tear strength and high creep versus real rubber. | 6 | 130 | 30 Shore D | |
As cast | For jewellery and dental investment casting: low residual ash on burn-out, soft and dimensionally fragile as a part. | 22 | 25 | 6 | 72 Shore D |
Water-washable low-odor bio-based | Use when no IPA is available; parts rinse in plain water but are slightly weaker and more moisture-sensitive. | 34 | 38 | 8 | 79 Shore D |
Impact-modified / ABS-like bio-based | Choose for snap-fits, housings and functional prototypes that must survive drops instead of shattering. | 37 | 42 | 30 | 76 Shore D |
Mineral/glass-filled stiff bio-based | Pick for thin stiff walls, jigs and fixtures where deflection and creep must be minimised; abrasive and brittle. | 55 | 2.5 | ||
High-temperature bio-based | For moulds, hot-air/hot-water fixtures and parts near heat sources; needs long thermal post-cure and is very brittle. | 55 | 2.5 | 88 Shore D |

What is Low-Odor Bio-Based Resin?
Low-Odor Bio-Based Resin is an SLA/DLP photopolymer with reduced volatile monomer content and partly bio-based feedstock, offered in standard, clear, water-washable, tough, flexible, rigid, high-temperature, castable and BIO-MED versions. It is chosen for desktop and shared-space printing where odor and VOC exposure matter, giving 45 MPa tensile strength, 9 % elongation and 82 Shore D — more ductile than most standard resins. Maximum service temperature is 55 °C, the lowest in this family, and the cured thermoset yellows and embrittles under UV without a protective coating. For heat or flame requirements, move to the high-temperature or fire-retardant resins. Low-Odor Bio-Based Resin has a density of 1.15 g/cm³ (0.0415 lb/in³), lighter than 57% of polymer grades. Its glass-transition temperature is 58°C (136 °F). Low-Odor Bio-Based Resin has a tensile strength of 45 MPa (6.53 ksi), weaker than 52% of polymer grades. Elongation at break is 9% and the elastic modulus is 1.9 GPa (0.276 Msi).

Working with Low-Odor Bio-Based Resin
Is Low-Odor Bio-Based Resin easy to machine?
Drill, tap and wet-sand only lightly with sharp tools and low heat; the cured thermoset chips and crazes, so post-cure fully before machining.
Can Low-Odor Bio-Based Resin be welded?
Not weldable — thermoset; join with cyanoacrylate, epoxy or by bonding parts with a drop of the same uncured resin and UV-flashing the seam.
Can Low-Odor Bio-Based Resin be formed, bent or molded?
Print at 385–405 nm with ~30 °C vat temperature and 2–3 s layer exposures, then wash (water or IPA per grade) and UV post-cure 5–20 min at 40–60 °C for stated properties.
