What is RGD525?
RGD525 is a UV-cured acrylate photopolymer for PolyJet material jetting, positioned as the high heat-deflection-temperature member of the rigid RGD/Vero resin family and available as-printed or after thermal post-treatment (TPT) in glossy or matte surfaces. Engineers specify it when a jetted part must tolerate hot air or hot water during testing, with 75 MPa tensile strength, 12% elongation and service to 55 °C. It is a crosslinked thermoset, so it cannot be welded, is notch-sensitive in thin sections and yellows under UV. For higher continuous service temperature, move to a sintered engineering thermoplastic such as PA or PEI. RGD525 has a density of 1.18 g/cm³ (0.0424 lb/in³), lighter than 52% of polymer grades. Its glass-transition temperature is 63°C (145 °F). RGD525 has a yield strength of 62 MPa (8.99 ksi) and a tensile strength of 75 MPa (10.9 ksi) — stronger than 72% of polymer grades. Elongation at break is 12% and the elastic modulus is 3.4 GPa (0.486 Msi).

Working with RGD525
Is RGD525 easy to machine?
Light drilling, reaming and trimming only — use sharp tools, high speed, low feed and no coolant heat build-up; the crosslinked acrylate chips and cracks around thin sections.
Can RGD525 be welded?
Thermoset — cannot be welded; join with cyanoacrylate, epoxy or acrylic structural adhesive after solvent-free degreasing.
Can RGD525 be formed, bent or molded?
Built only by PolyJet material jetting with soluble/gel support; wall thickness ≥1 mm, keep parts fully supported during the thermal post-treatment bake to prevent sag and warp.

What surface finishes work on RGD525?
Water-jet or NaOH bath support removal, then sand and polish (glossy) or bead-blast (matte); primes and paints readily with acrylic/PU systems — a UV-blocking topcoat is recommended to limit yellowing.
How much does RGD525 cost?
RGD525 is a high-cost polymer ($$$$), pricier than about 78% of the materials FabDigit quotes. Part price depends far more on geometry, tolerance and quantity than on the raw stock — upload a CAD file for a live quote.
