What is C82510?
C82510 is a silicon-modified version of C82500 cast beryllium copper to ASTM B824, with the silicon addition improving fluidity and castability. After solution treatment and ageing it reaches 1035 MPa yield, 1105 MPa tensile, 400 HB (43 HRC) and 105 W/m·K with 20% IACS, so it is used where a casting must combine high hardness, wear resistance and heat extraction, such as mould and die inserts. Elongation is only 1%, service is limited to about 220 °C, machinability is rated 35, and beryllium dust and fume require controlled handling. C82100 is the lower-strength, higher-conductivity alternative in the same family. C82510 has a density of 8.26 g/cm³ (0.298 lb/in³), lighter than 83% of copper alloy grades. It melts at 866°C (1,591 °F). C82510 has a yield strength of 1,035 MPa (150 ksi) and a tensile strength of 1,105 MPa (160 ksi) — stronger than 100% of copper alloy grades. Elongation at break is 1% and the elastic modulus is 131 GPa (19 Msi).

Working with C82510
Is C82510 easy to machine?
Rough machine in TB00 and finish after ageing; use sharp carbide tools, positive rake, flood coolant and HEPA-filtered extraction — beryllium-bearing dust and fume require controlled handling.
Can C82510 be welded?
GTAW/EB/laser repair welding is possible with matching BeCu filler in the solution-treated state; re-solution treat and re-age to restore properties, and never grind or weld without local exhaust.
Can C82510 be formed, bent or molded?
Foundry alloy only: pour at ~1050–1100 °C in sand, centrifugal, investment or continuous casting; the silicon addition improves fluidity and reduces misruns compared with C82500.
