Choosing TPU 1301
An SLS TPU for flexible, durable components that need rebound and toughness rather than rigid nylon behavior.
- Consider it for
- Automotive flexible components · Sports and protective parts · Grips, bumpers and compliant prototypes
- Tradeoffs
- The manufacturer publishes very different elongation by orientation; it is not an isotropic rubber replacement or a precision rigid material.
- Design and validation
- Use lattice or wall-thickness trials for the target feel, and orient a repeatedly bent section around the weakest published direction. Define the required hardness and compression behavior explicitly.
- Finishing
- White parts can be dyed after printing. Surface finishing may alter grip, appearance and friction, so evaluate it against the intended contact surface.
- Before choosing
- Do you need this TPU's 86A hardness range or a softer/harder elastomer? Will repeated flexing make orientation and fatigue testing decisive?
