What is IN-713C?
IN-713C (N07713) is a γ'-precipitation-hardened cast nickel-base superalloy strengthened by roughly 6 % combined aluminium and titanium. It is chosen for good casting fluidity and low hot-tearing tendency in thin turbine sections, and is supplied as vacuum investment castings rated 740 MPa yield, 850 MPa tensile, 8 % elongation and 330 HB (34 HRC), usable to about 950 °C. It is a cast-only alloy and effectively non-weldable by fusion; machinability rates 10 of 100, so features are ground, EDM'd or ECM'd. IN-738LC is the usual step up where higher hot-corrosion resistance is required. IN-713C has a density of 7.91 g/cm³ (0.286 lb/in³), lighter than 89% of nickel alloy grades. It melts at 1,260°C (2,300 °F). IN-713C has a yield strength of 740 MPa (107 ksi) and a tensile strength of 850 MPa (123 ksi) — stronger than 82% of nickel alloy grades. Elongation at break is 8% and the elastic modulus is 205 GPa (29.7 Msi).

Working with IN-713C
Is IN-713C easy to machine?
Very difficult: rigid setups, ceramic or whisker-reinforced/coated carbide tools, low speeds with heavy positive rake and flood coolant; grinding, EDM and ECM are common for blade/wheel features.
Can IN-713C be welded?
Effectively non-weldable by fusion (≈6 % Al + Ti causes strain-age and liquation cracking); repairs use vacuum brazing or specialized low-heat-input laser/EB cladding with pre-/post-heat.
Can IN-713C be formed, bent or molded?
Cast-only alloy — vacuum investment casting with excellent fluidity and low hot-tearing tendency; HIP after casting to close interdendritic porosity for rotating parts.
