Working with T800H THERMOPLASTIC
Is T800H easy to machine?
Extremely abrasive and delamination-prone — use PCD or diamond-coated compression routers, high rpm/low feed, backing plates on drill exit, and HEPA extraction for conductive dust.
Can T800H be welded?
Not weldable in epoxy/BMI form; thermoplastic (PEEK/PEKK) tape versions can be resistance-, induction- or ultrasonically welded.
Can T800H be formed, bent or molded?
Laid up as UD or fabric prepreg and autoclave-cured at 177 °C/6–7 bar (epoxy) or 190–230 °C post-cure (BMI); also filament winding, RTM and AFP with slit tape.
What surface finishes work on T800H?
Seal edges and use fiberglass isolation plies plus wet primer/sealant at aluminium interfaces to prevent galvanic corrosion; UV-protective topcoat required for outdoor service.

T800H THERMOPLASTIC — frequently asked
What is T800H THERMOPLASTIC used for?
T800H THERMOPLASTIC is typically used for commercial aircraft wing/fuselage, high-performance drones and premium bicycle frames. In short: intermediate-modulus primary structure fiber; available as thermoplastic tape; higher stiffness than T700S.
What is the tensile strength of T800H THERMOPLASTIC?
T800H THERMOPLASTIC has a typical tensile strength of 2,450 MPa (355 ksi) — stronger than 78% of composite grades. Strength varies by condition: see the 5 listed tempers.
Is T800H THERMOPLASTIC easy to machine?
Not especially — machinability is rated poor (18/100, worse than 80% of composite grades). Extremely abrasive and delamination-prone — use PCD or diamond-coated compression routers, high rpm/low feed, backing plates on drill exit, and HEPA extraction for conductive dust.
Can T800H THERMOPLASTIC be welded?
Not weldable in epoxy/BMI form; thermoplastic (PEEK/PEKK) tape versions can be resistance-, induction- or ultrasonically welded.
What surface finishes work on T800H THERMOPLASTIC?
