Working with C82100-M02

Is C82100 easy to machine?

Machine in TB00 where possible; in TF00 use sharp carbide tooling, rigid setups, flood coolant and HEPA-filtered wet collection to control beryllium-bearing dust.

Can C82100 be welded?

GTAW/EBW/resistance welding are feasible with matching BeCu filler; re-solution treat and age after welding, and provide local fume extraction for Be.

Can C82100 be formed, bent or molded?

Sand, permanent-mould, investment and centrifugal casting all work well; feed heavily with risers and chills because of the wide freezing range and high thermal conductivity.

What surface finishes work on C82100?

Not anodizable — takes electroless/electrolytic Ni, Ag or Cr plating, chemical blackening and a high mechanical polish for mould inserts.
