What is PSr45?
ПСр45 is a mid-high silver Ag-Cu-Zn braze filler to GOST 19738, filling broadly the same role as AWS BAg-1 in CIS-standard fabrication. It is the general-purpose choice for copper, brass and steel joints: free-flowing and ductile at 410 MPa tensile, 200 MPa yield, 28 % elongation and 90 HB, and available as annealed or hard-drawn wire, strip, powder and stamped preforms. Zinc volatilization keeps it to flux or inert-gas brazing rather than vacuum furnaces, and silver cost pushes high-volume users toward ПСр25. Use ПСр70 where the narrowest melting range and fastest flow are required. PSr45 has a density of 9.1 g/cm³ (0.329 lb/in³), lighter than 89% of precious metal grades. It melts at 660°C (1,220 °F). PSr45 has a yield strength of 200 MPa (29 ksi) and a tensile strength of 410 MPa (59.5 ksi) — stronger than 51% of precious metal grades. Elongation at break is 28% and the elastic modulus is 83 GPa (12 Msi).

Manufacturability7
PSr45's machinability is fair (45/100, better than 59% of precious metal grades); weldability poor (20/100); formability very good (80/100).

Working with PSr45
Is PSr45 easy to machine?
Rarely machined; soft and gummy — use sharp positive-rake tools, high speed, light feed, avoid smearing.
Can PSr45 be welded?
Not a structural weld alloy; joined by brazing itself — keep torch heat off the filler, heat the base metal and let it melt the rod.
Can PSr45 be formed, bent or molded?
Annealed material draws to fine wire and rolls to foil readily; interstage anneal at ~600 °C after ~50 % reduction.
