Working with PP-B
Is PP-B easy to machine?
Machines easily but gummy and elastic: use sharp positive-rake single-flute or O-flute tools, high speed, low feed pressure, air blast — avoid heat build-up and expect spring-back on tight tolerances.
Can PP-B be welded?
Excellent for hot-plate, hot-gas, extrusion, ultrasonic, spin and vibration welding as well as heat staking; no solvent cementing — bonding requires flame/corona/plasma treatment or PP-specific primers with structural adhesive.
Can PP-B be formed, bent or molded?
Easy injection molding at 200–260 °C melt / 20–60 °C mold; shrinkage 1.0–2.5 % is high and anisotropic, so gate for balanced flow, allow uniform walls and hold pressure long enough to avoid voids and sink in thick rubber-rich sections; sheet thermoforms and cold-bends into living hinges.

What surface finishes work on PP-B?
Low-energy waxy surface — paint or metallize only after flame/plasma/corona treatment or with a chlorinated-polyolefin adhesion promoter; texture (mold-etched) finishes hide flow marks better than polished surfaces; not electroplatable without special etch systems.
How much does PP-B cost?
PP-B is a budget-cost polymer ($), cheaper than about 90% of the materials FabDigit quotes. Part price depends far more on geometry, tolerance and quantity than on the raw stock — upload a CAD file for a live quote.
