ZA-8 PM Cast is ZA-8 supplied in the PM Cast condition — mid-volume gravity casting route giving finer structure and better properties than sand cast, below die-cast levels. ZA-8 PM Cast has a yield strength of 207 MPa (30 ksi) and a tensile strength of 255 MPa (37 ksi) — stronger than 57% of zinc alloy grades. Elongation at break is 2% and the elastic modulus is 85.5 GPa (12.4 Msi). ZA-8 PM Cast has a density of 6.3 g/cm³ (0.228 lb/in³), lighter than 86% of zinc alloy grades. It melts at 375°C (707 °F). As Cast is the default condition FabDigit quotes; PM Cast is available on request or by drawing note.
