As-cast
Take parts delivered with room-temperature cure only for appearance models: dimensionally stable but heat resistance stops at 60 °C service and 75 °C Tg, far short of the rated level.45551280 Shore D
Impact-modified high-heat PU
Choose the impact-modified version for snap fits and thin-wall housings needing drop toughness, with 25% elongation and PC/ABS-like behaviour, where slightly lower HDT is acceptable.45552580 Shore D
Aluminium-powder filled high-heat PU
Use the aluminium-powder filled version for cast parts needing a metallic look, 0.6 W/m·K conductivity and 4.5 GPa stiffness, such as lamp reflectors and mould-insert prototypes.—502—
Flame-retardant high-heat PU
Specify the flame-retardant version for electrical enclosures and rail or cabin interior prototypes that must meet UL 94 V-0; service temperature is 100 °C at 55 MPa tensile.5055487 Shore D
Transparent / optical high-heat PU
Pick the transparent aliphatic system for lenses, light guides and viewing windows; it resists yellowing but costs more and has somewhat lower heat resistance than the standard casting resin.52601082 Shore D
Mineral / glass-microsphere filled high-heat PU
Choose the mineral or glass-microsphere filled version for fixtures and brackets needing higher stiffness at 4.2 GPa, lower CTE and dimensional stability; elongation drops to 3%.—58388 Shore D
Extended high-temperature post-cure
Pick the extended 100–120 °C ramped post-cure for the highest HDT and Tg (140 °C Tg, 130 °C service); the trade-offs are lower toughness at 5% elongation and more post-cure distortion.6270587 Shore D

Working with PU-HighTemp GREEN

Is PU-HighTemp easy to machine?

After full cure it mills, drills and taps with sharp carbide at high spindle speed and light feed; avoid local heat build-up that softens the surface. Extract dust at the tool.

Can PU-HighTemp be welded?

Thermoset — no heat welding is possible. Assemble with epoxy or cyanoacrylate adhesive, threaded inserts or self-tapping screws.

Can PU-HighTemp be formed, bent or molded?

Vacuum casting: weigh A and B accurately by mass, degas and pour into silicone moulds preheated to 60–80 °C. The manufacturer's stepped oven post-cure (typically 80 °C for 2–4 h plus 100–120 °C) is mandatory to reach the rated HDT; heat-resistant formulations have a short working life and shorten silicone mould life compared with room-temperature PU.

What surface finishes work on PU-HighTemp?

Sands, primes, paints, screen-prints and vacuum-metallises (aluminium) well. Aromatic systems without a UV additive need a UV-blocking topcoat to prevent yellowing.

PU-HighTemp GREEN — frequently asked

What is PU-HighTemp GREEN used for?

PU-HighTemp GREEN is typically used for under-hood prototypes, reflow-adjacent housings, thermal cycling test parts and lighting fixture prototypes. In short: highest service temperature PU; 110 °C cast prototypes; post-cure sets the HDT.

What is the tensile strength of PU-HighTemp GREEN?

PU-HighTemp GREEN has a typical tensile strength of 55 MPa (7.98 ksi) — stronger than 64% of polyurethane grades. Strength varies by condition: see the 7 listed tempers.

Is PU-HighTemp GREEN easy to machine?

Yes — machinability is rated very good (75/100, better than 83% of polyurethane grades). After full cure it mills, drills and taps with sharp carbide at high spindle speed and light feed; avoid local heat build-up that softens the surface. Extract dust at the tool.

Can PU-HighTemp GREEN be welded?

Thermoset — no heat welding is possible. Assemble with epoxy or cyanoacrylate adhesive, threaded inserts or self-tapping screws.

What is the maximum service temperature of PU-HighTemp GREEN?

PU-HighTemp GREEN is rated for continuous use to about 60°C (140 °F), and briefly to 140°C. Strength falls off well before that limit — check the elevated-temperature data for load-bearing parts.
