Working with PU-HighTemp FR-V0

Is PU-HighTemp easy to machine?

After full cure it mills, drills and taps with sharp carbide at high spindle speed and light feed; avoid local heat build-up that softens the surface. Extract dust at the tool.

Can PU-HighTemp be welded?

Thermoset — no heat welding is possible. Assemble with epoxy or cyanoacrylate adhesive, threaded inserts or self-tapping screws.

Can PU-HighTemp be formed, bent or molded?

Vacuum casting: weigh A and B accurately by mass, degas and pour into silicone moulds preheated to 60–80 °C. The manufacturer's stepped oven post-cure (typically 80 °C for 2–4 h plus 100–120 °C) is mandatory to reach the rated HDT; heat-resistant formulations have a short working life and shorten silicone mould life compared with room-temperature PU.

What surface finishes work on PU-HighTemp?

Sands, primes, paints, screen-prints and vacuum-metallises (aluminium) well. Aromatic systems without a UV additive need a UV-blocking topcoat to prevent yellowing.

PU-HighTemp FR-V0 — frequently asked

What is PU-HighTemp FR-V0 used for?

PU-HighTemp FR-V0 is typically used for under-hood prototypes, reflow-adjacent housings, thermal cycling test parts and lighting fixture prototypes. In short: highest service temperature PU; 110 °C cast prototypes; post-cure sets the HDT.

What is the tensile strength of PU-HighTemp FR-V0?

PU-HighTemp FR-V0 has a typical tensile strength of 55 MPa (7.98 ksi) — stronger than 64% of polyurethane grades. Strength varies by condition: see the 7 listed tempers.

Is PU-HighTemp FR-V0 easy to machine?

Reasonably — machinability is rated good (55/100, worse than 64% of polyurethane grades). After full cure it mills, drills and taps with sharp carbide at high spindle speed and light feed; avoid local heat build-up that softens the surface. Extract dust at the tool.

Can PU-HighTemp FR-V0 be welded?
