Stainless Steel E630-A vs E630-H1100
Stainless Steel · E630 temper comparison
E630-A and E630-H1100 are two conditions of the same stainless steel grade, E630: A (solution annealed) versus H1100 (aged 593 °C (1100 °F) for 4 h). The chemistry is identical, so every difference below comes from the condition. E630-H1100 is the stronger of the two: yield strength 860 MPa (125 ksi) against 760 MPa (110 ksi) for E630-A, about 13% more. E630-H1100 is the more ductile: elongation 14% versus 12% for E630-A. E630-H1100 runs hotter in service (420°C vs 300°C continuous) and E630-H1100 conducts heat better (22 W/m·K vs 17.9 W/m·K).

E630-A vs E630-H1100: propertiesHow to read these bars
- One bar per material. A full bar is the highest value among all stainless steel grades in the FabDigit library; each bar is drawn as a share of that.
- The better value (by the usual engineering direction) is in bold. Rows with no direction — density, thermal conductivity — have no bold.
- Values are typical room-temperature figures for the condition named on each card.
- Confirm against the certified mill or resin datasheet before design release.

E630-A vs E630-H1100 — frequently asked
Is E630-H1100 stronger than E630-A?
Yes. E630-H1100 has a typical yield strength of 860 MPa (125 ksi) against 760 MPa (110 ksi) for E630-A — about 13% more. Tensile strength is 965 MPa (140 ksi) vs 1,030 MPa (149 ksi).
Which condition does FabDigit quote by default, A or H1100?
AW is the default E630 condition in the FabDigit quote flow (neither A nor H1100). The other condition is available on request or by drawing note — specify it in the material field or the part notes and the quote is priced for it.
Which welds better, E630-A or E630-H1100?
E630-A. Its weldability rates very good (70/100) against good (62/100) for E630-H1100.
