Stainless Steel E630-H1100 vs E630-H900
Stainless Steel · E630 temper comparison
E630-H1100 and E630-H900 are two conditions of the same stainless steel grade, E630: H1100 (aged 593 °C (1100 °F) for 4 h) versus H900 (aged 482 °C (900 °F) for 1 h, peak hardness). The chemistry is identical, so every difference below comes from the condition. E630-H900 is the stronger of the two: yield strength 1,170 MPa (170 ksi) against 860 MPa (125 ksi) for E630-H1100, about 36% more; tensile strength follows at 1,310 MPa (190 ksi) vs 965 MPa (140 ksi). In exchange, E630-H1100 is the more ductile: elongation 14% versus 9% for E630-H900, and E630-H900 is harder (42 HRC vs 32 HRC). E630-H1100 runs hotter in service (420°C vs 300°C continuous) and E630-H1100 conducts heat better (22 W/m·K vs 17.9 W/m·K).

E630-H1100 vs E630-H900: propertiesHow to read these bars
- One bar per material. A full bar is the highest value among all stainless steel grades in the FabDigit library; each bar is drawn as a share of that.
- The better value (by the usual engineering direction) is in bold. Rows with no direction — density, thermal conductivity — have no bold.
- Values are typical room-temperature figures for the condition named on each card.
- Confirm against the certified mill or resin datasheet before design release.

E630-H1100 vs E630-H900 — frequently asked
Is E630-H900 stronger than E630-H1100?
Yes. E630-H900 has a typical yield strength of 1,170 MPa (170 ksi) against 860 MPa (125 ksi) for E630-H1100 — about 36% more. Tensile strength is 1,310 MPa (190 ksi) vs 965 MPa (140 ksi).
Which condition does FabDigit quote by default, H1100 or H900?
AW is the default E630 condition in the FabDigit quote flow (neither H1100 nor H900). The other condition is available on request or by drawing note — specify it in the material field or the part notes and the quote is priced for it.
When should I choose E630-H1100 over E630-H900?
Pick E630-H1100 when the part is bent, formed or impact-loaded, or when the part sees heat. Pick E630-H900 when strength drives the design.
