RTPU GF30 vs RTPU HS
Polymer · RTPU grade comparison
RTPU GF30 and RTPU HS are two grades of the same polymer grade, RTPU: GF30 (30 % glass-fibre reinforced) versus HS (hydrolysis / chemical-resistance stabilised grade). The chemistry is identical, so every difference below comes from the condition. RTPU GF30 is the stronger of the two: tensile strength 115 MPa (16.7 ksi) against 55 MPa (7.98 ksi) for RTPU HS, about 109% more. In exchange, RTPU HS is the more ductile: elongation 160% versus 5% for RTPU GF30. RTPU HS is lighter (1.2 g/cm³ vs 1.43 g/cm³ for RTPU GF30) and RTPU GF30 is stiffer (8 GPa vs 2 GPa). On the shop floor, RTPU HS machines more easily (good vs fair).
RTPU GF30Choose it when strength drives the design, or when the part sees heat.
RTPU HSChoose it when the part is bent, formed or impact-loaded, or when weight is the constraint.
RTPU GF30 vs RTPU HS: propertiesHow to read these bars
- One bar per material. A full bar is the highest value among all polymer grades in the FabDigit library; each bar is drawn as a share of that.
- The better value (by the usual engineering direction) is in bold. Rows with no direction — density, thermal conductivity — have no bold.
- Values are typical room-temperature figures for the condition named on each card.
- Confirm against the certified mill or resin datasheet before design release.
