Copper Alloy TU1-H04 vs TU1-H80
Copper Alloy · TU1 temper comparison
TU1-H04 and TU1-H80 are two conditions of the same copper alloy grade, TU1: H04 (full hard) versus H80 (hard drawn). The chemistry is identical, so every difference below comes from the condition. TU1-H80 is the stronger of the two: yield strength 345 MPa (50 ksi) against 310 MPa (45 ksi) for TU1-H04, about 11% more; tensile strength follows at 379 MPa (55 ksi) vs 345 MPa (50 ksi). TU1-H80 is the more ductile: elongation 10% versus 6% for TU1-H04, and TU1-H80 is harder (100 HB vs 90 HB).
TU1-H80Choose it when strength drives the design, or when the part is bent, formed or impact-loaded.
TU1-H04 vs TU1-H80: propertiesHow to read these bars
- One bar per material. A full bar is the highest value among all copper alloy grades in the FabDigit library; each bar is drawn as a share of that.
- The better value (by the usual engineering direction) is in bold. Rows with no direction — density, thermal conductivity — have no bold.
- Values are typical room-temperature figures for the condition named on each card.
- Confirm against the certified mill or resin datasheet before design release.

TU1-H04 vs TU1-H80 — frequently asked
Is TU1-H80 stronger than TU1-H04?
Yes. TU1-H80 has a typical yield strength of 345 MPa (50 ksi) against 310 MPa (45 ksi) for TU1-H04 — about 11% more. Tensile strength is 379 MPa (55 ksi) vs 345 MPa (50 ksi).
Which condition does FabDigit quote by default, H04 or H80?
OS050 is the default TU1 condition in the FabDigit quote flow (neither H04 nor H80). The other condition is available on request or by drawing note — specify it in the material field or the part notes and the quote is priced for it.
When should I choose TU1-H04 over TU1-H80?
Pick TU1-H80 when strength drives the design, or when the part is bent, formed or impact-loaded.

Upload a CAD file and FabDigit prices the part in TU1-H04 and TU1-H80 side by side — material, machining time, tolerance and finish in one quote. Certified material data ships with the order on request.
Typical handbook values for the conditions named above, normalised for comparison. Hardness on non-Brinell scales is converted approximately for charting only. Request certified data with your order for design-critical properties.
