Copper Alloy Cu-OF1-H04 vs Cu-OF1-M
Copper Alloy · Cu-OF1 temper comparison
Cu-OF1-H04 and Cu-OF1-M are two conditions of the same copper alloy grade, Cu-OF1: H04 (full hard) versus M (thermomechanically controlled processed). The chemistry is identical, so every difference below comes from the condition. Cu-OF1-H04 is the stronger of the two: yield strength 300 MPa (43.5 ksi) against 55 MPa (7.98 ksi) for Cu-OF1-M, about 5.5 times as much; tensile strength follows at 350 MPa (50.8 ksi) vs 170 MPa (24.7 ksi). In exchange, Cu-OF1-M is the more ductile: elongation 35% versus 12% for Cu-OF1-H04, and Cu-OF1-H04 is harder (95 HB vs 40 HB). Cu-OF1-H04 is stiffer (125 GPa vs 115 GPa) and Cu-OF1-M runs hotter in service (250°C vs 150°C continuous).

Cu-OF1-H04 vs Cu-OF1-M: propertiesHow to read these bars
- One bar per material. A full bar is the highest value among all copper alloy grades in the FabDigit library; each bar is drawn as a share of that.
- The better value (by the usual engineering direction) is in bold. Rows with no direction — density, thermal conductivity — have no bold.
- Values are typical room-temperature figures for the condition named on each card.
- Confirm against the certified mill or resin datasheet before design release.

Cu-OF1-H04 vs Cu-OF1-M — frequently asked
Is Cu-OF1-H04 stronger than Cu-OF1-M?
Yes. Cu-OF1-H04 has a typical yield strength of 300 MPa (43.5 ksi) against 55 MPa (7.98 ksi) for Cu-OF1-M — about 5.5 times as much. Tensile strength is 350 MPa (50.8 ksi) vs 170 MPa (24.7 ksi).
Which condition does FabDigit quote by default, H04 or M?
H04 is the default Cu-OF1 condition in the FabDigit quote flow. The other condition is available on request or by drawing note — specify it in the material field or the part notes and the quote is priced for it.
When should I choose Cu-OF1-H04 over Cu-OF1-M?
Pick Cu-OF1-H04 when strength drives the design. Pick Cu-OF1-M when the part is bent, formed or impact-loaded, or when the part sees heat.
