Aluminum V95-T1 vs V95-T3
Aluminum · V95 temper comparison
V95-T1 and V95-T3 are two conditions of the same aluminum grade, V95: T1 (cooled from hot working and naturally aged) versus T3 (solution heat treated, cold worked and naturally aged). The chemistry is identical, so every difference below comes from the condition. V95-T1 is the stronger of the two: yield strength 470 MPa (68.2 ksi) against 440 MPa (63.8 ksi) for V95-T3, about 7% more; tensile strength follows at 545 MPa (79 ksi) vs 510 MPa (74 ksi). In exchange, V95-T3 is the more ductile: elongation 9% versus 8% for V95-T1, and V95-T1 is harder (160 HV vs 152 HV). V95-T3 runs hotter in service (135°C vs 120°C continuous) and V95-T3 conducts heat better (148 W/m·K vs 130 W/m·K).
V95-T1Choose it when strength drives the design.
V95-T3Choose it when the part is bent, formed or impact-loaded, or when the part sees heat.
V95-T1 vs V95-T3: propertiesHow to read these bars
- One bar per material. A full bar is the highest value among all aluminum grades in the FabDigit library; each bar is drawn as a share of that.
- The better value (by the usual engineering direction) is in bold. Rows with no direction — density, thermal conductivity — have no bold.
- Values are typical room-temperature figures for the condition named on each card.
- Confirm against the certified mill or resin datasheet before design release.

V95-T1 vs V95-T3 — frequently asked
Is V95-T1 stronger than V95-T3?
Yes. V95-T1 has a typical yield strength of 470 MPa (68.2 ksi) against 440 MPa (63.8 ksi) for V95-T3 — about 7% more. Tensile strength is 545 MPa (79 ksi) vs 510 MPa (74 ksi).
Which condition does FabDigit quote by default, T1 or T3?
T1 is the default V95 condition in the FabDigit quote flow. The other condition is available on request or by drawing note — specify it in the material field or the part notes and the quote is priced for it.
When should I choose V95-T1 over V95-T3?
Pick V95-T1 when strength drives the design. Pick V95-T3 when the part is bent, formed or impact-loaded, or when the part sees heat.

Upload a CAD file and FabDigit prices the part in V95-T1 and V95-T3 side by side — material, machining time, tolerance and finish in one quote. Certified material data ships with the order on request.
Typical handbook values for the conditions named above, normalised for comparison. Hardness on non-Brinell scales is converted approximately for charting only. Request certified data with your order for design-critical properties.
