What SendCutSend does well

Read from sendcutsend.com on September 13, 2026. For a flat or simply bent part needed in 24 hours it is the fastest route, and the table below says so.

Own shops, published prices

Own factories — every part is cut, bent and finished on SendCutSend equipment in its six US facilities, nothing outsourced. Example prices are published with volume discounts to 80 %, savings from two parts.

Materials and speed

175+ sheet materials in stock, 0.015–2.25" thick; 10 bendable materials. Ships in 2–4 business days; bending +1–2, powder coat +3–5, plating +7–10 days; ships within 24 hours (fastest tier, order by noon pt).

Shipping and guarantee

Free US shipping from $39 including LTL freight; Canada from $19. Money-back guarantee — refund or remake.

Tolerances

Laser ±0.005" under 12" (±0.010" over); waterjet ±0.009"; bends ±1°, bend-to-edge ±0.015".

When a part outgrows SendCutSend

Each limit is from SendCutSend’s own service pages; the alternatives are the platforms whose published capabilities cover it.

  1. Geometry. Cuts are 2D perpendicular only — no V-grooves, contours or partial-depth cuts. OSH Cut has the same 2D limit; for chamfers, pockets or 3D contours the part is a CNC job at FabDigit, Xometry or Protolabs.
  2. Forming. Bends to 130° only; no hems, coining, curls or roll forming; no custom bend radii. Hems and coining are quoted at FabDigit, Protolabs (5-day tier) and Xometry (manual quote); Fabworks bends to 135°.
  3. Machining. CNC machining limited to 6061 billet, 7 × 7 × 12 in, ±0.005" fixed. FabDigit, Xometry and Protolabs mill and turn steels, stainless, titanium and plastics to drawing tolerances.
  4. Certifications and reach. No ISO 9001, AS9100 or ITAR published; ships to the US and Canada only. Protolabs, Xometry and OSH Cut publish ISO 9001; FabDigit’s partners hold ISO 9001:2015 and FabDigit accepts international orders.
  5. Cosmetic parts. “We don’t offer special protection for cosmetic parts” — the same applies at OSH Cut. For visible surfaces, FabDigit, Protolabs and Xometry quote the finish together with an inspection level.

The seven alternatives

FabDigit first — we run this site and say so. The other six follow by how many SendCutSend buyers each one fits: the like-for-like own-shop services first, then the platforms for parts that need more than cut and bend.

SendCutSend alternatives — FAQ

What are the best alternatives to SendCutSend?

FabDigit when the part needs hems, welds, hardware, any of 150+ finishes, heat treatment and inspection reports priced together, real CNC machining in any of 790 grades, or a lower price on the same drawing (price-beat offer on every quote). OSH Cut is the nearest like-for-like own-shop model (instant quote, plate to 1", tube laser, ISO 9001). Fabworks for parts larger than 30 × 44 in. Xometry and Protolabs for certifications (AS9100D, ITAR) and sheet metal inside a multi-process order. Fictiv for managed programs. Ponoko for non-metals and same-day. The situation table maps each reason to a start.

What can SendCutSend not do?

From its own pages: cuts are 2D perpendicular only (no V-grooves, contours or partial-depth cuts); bends to 130° with no hems, coining, curls or roll forming and no custom bend radii; CNC machining in 6061-T6 billet only, 7 × 7 × 12 in, ±0.005" fixed; welding only to close seams; no cosmetic-part protection; shipping to the US and Canada only; no ISO 9001, AS9100 or ITAR published.

Is OSH Cut better than SendCutSend?

Different, not better. OSH Cut cuts thicker (steel and aluminum to 1" vs SendCutSend’s 0.250" bending limit and laser to 0.750"), bends longer (119"), laser-cuts tube and is ISO 9001 certified, with a 2-day standard guaranteed as selected. SendCutSend stocks more materials (175+), publishes prices, ships free from $39 and offers a 24-hour tier. OSH Cut does no welding either and does not offer free shipping.

Who does hems and bends over 130°?

FabDigit (coining and hems quoted, engineer-checked bend order), Protolabs (hems on the 5-day tier), Xometry (manual quote), Fictiv. SendCutSend and OSH Cut do not hem; Fabworks bends to 135°.

Which SendCutSend alternatives are ISO 9001 or ITAR?

OSH Cut ISO 9001:2015; Protolabs ISO 9001 and ITAR on sheet metal; Xometry ISO 9001 / 13485, AS9100D, IATF 16949, ITAR; Fictiv ISO 9001 (no ITAR); Ponoko lists ISO 9001 and ITAR; FabDigit’s production partners hold ISO 9001:2015 (FABDIGIT INC. itself is not certified). Fabworks publishes none.

Which alternative is as fast?

OSH Cut same day / 2-day standard, Fabworks next day on small orders, Protolabs 1-day expedite and 3-day tier, Ponoko same day in the Bay Area, Xometry 3-day standard, FabDigit from 3 business days. SendCutSend’s 24-hour tier remains the fastest published for bent parts with finishing.

Does anyone match SendCutSend’s price on flat parts?

Not with published prices. OSH Cut says its pricing engine is most competitive on nested, mid-to-large jobs and bent parts. Fabworks and the networks quote instantly but do not publish example prices. FabDigit publishes engine-sampled price curves in its sheet metal cost guide.

Machined parts too? See the CNC machining comparison and Xometry alternatives.
