OBJ to STL converter
Check the mesh, choose the units, then download a binary STL.
How it works
Open
Drop an OBJ file.
Check
Inspect the mesh and confirm its size.
Download
Choose millimetres or inches, then download.
What you can do
Units
Export in millimetres or inches.
Size check
Confirm the overall size before printing.
Share link
Share a 30-day browser link. No account required.
Manufacturing price

OBJ or STL?
OBJ can store mesh geometry, textures and materials. STL stores triangle geometry only.
Conversion keeps the shape and removes textures, colours and materials.
What carries over
| From the OBJ file | In the STL |
|---|---|
| Shape | Yes, as triangles |
| Size | Yes |
| Groups and objects | Merged into one STL |
| Textures, colours, MTL materials | No |
| Normals | Recomputed from the triangles |
Supported formats
Every tool accepts the same file types.

| IGES | .iges, .igs | 3D solid or surface: view, measure and export |
| STL | .stl | 3D mesh: view and measure |
| OBJ | .obj | 3D mesh: view, measure and export |
| SOLIDWORKS | .sldprt | Converted to STEP |
| Autodesk Inventor | .ipt | Converted to STEP |

FAQ
Is my file uploaded to FabDigit?
Yes. We upload it over an encrypted connection to open and price it. Only FabDigit and people with your share link can access it.
Can I get a price?
Yes. We price eligible parts instantly. Other parts go to an engineer for review. You can change the material, finish and quantity before ordering.
Are textures kept?
No. STL stores geometry only.
What units is the STL in?
Millimetres by default. Choose inches if needed and confirm the size before downloading.
Can I share the model?
Yes. Copy a private link that works for 30 days. No account or software is required.
Is it free?
Yes. No account or installation is required.
