Steel T13A-A vs T13A QT63-65
Steel · T13A temper comparison
T13A-A and T13A QT63-65 are two conditions of the same steel grade, T13A: A (solution annealed) versus QT63-65 (Q&T 63–65 HRC). The chemistry is identical, so every difference below comes from the condition. T13A QT63-65 is the stronger of the two: tensile strength 2,100 MPa (305 ksi) against 700 MPa (102 ksi) for T13A-A, about 3.0 times as much. In exchange, T13A-A is the more ductile: elongation 18% versus 0.5% for T13A QT63-65, and T13A QT63-65 is harder (800 HV vs 207 HV). T13A-A runs hotter in service (300°C vs 150°C continuous). On the shop floor, T13A-A machines more easily (fair vs not recommended).
T13A-AChoose it when the part is bent, formed or impact-loaded, or when the part sees heat.

T13A-A vs T13A QT63-65: propertiesHow to read these bars
- One bar per material. A full bar is the highest value among all steel grades in the FabDigit library; each bar is drawn as a share of that.
- The better value (by the usual engineering direction) is in bold. Rows with no direction — density, thermal conductivity — have no bold.
- Values are typical room-temperature figures for the condition named on each card.
- Confirm against the certified mill or resin datasheet before design release.

T13A-A vs T13A QT63-65 — frequently asked
Is T13A QT63-65 stronger than T13A-A?
Yes. T13A QT63-65 has a typical tensile strength of 2,100 MPa (305 ksi) against 700 MPa (102 ksi) for T13A-A — about 3.0 times as much.
Which condition does FabDigit quote by default, A or QT63-65?
A is the default T13A condition in the FabDigit quote flow. The other condition is available on request or by drawing note — specify it in the material field or the part notes and the quote is priced for it.
Which is easier to machine, T13A-A or T13A QT63-65?
T13A-A. Its machinability rates fair (40/100) against not recommended (8/100) for T13A QT63-65.
