mPPE GF10 vs mPPE GF20
Polymer · mPPE grade comparison
mPPE GF10 and mPPE GF20 are two grades of the same polymer grade, mPPE: GF10 (10% glass-fiber reinforced) versus GF20 (20% glass-fiber reinforced). The chemistry is identical, so every difference below comes from the condition. mPPE GF20 is the stronger of the two: tensile strength 95 MPa (13.8 ksi) against 76 MPa (11 ksi) for mPPE GF10, about 25% more. In exchange, mPPE GF10 is the more ductile: elongation 6% versus 4% for mPPE GF20. MPPE GF10 is lighter (1.14 g/cm³ vs 1.21 g/cm³ for mPPE GF20) and mPPE GF20 is stiffer (5.5 GPa vs 3.7 GPa). On the shop floor, mPPE GF10 machines more easily (good vs fair).
mPPE GF10Choose it when the part is bent, formed or impact-loaded, or when weight is the constraint.
mPPE GF20Choose it when strength drives the design.
mPPE GF10 vs mPPE GF20: propertiesHow to read these bars
- One bar per material. A full bar is the highest value among all polymer grades in the FabDigit library; each bar is drawn as a share of that.
- The better value (by the usual engineering direction) is in bold. Rows with no direction — density, thermal conductivity — have no bold.
- Values are typical room-temperature figures for the condition named on each card.
- Confirm against the certified mill or resin datasheet before design release.

mPPE GF10 vs mPPE GF20 — frequently asked
Is mPPE GF20 stronger than mPPE GF10?
Yes. mPPE GF20 has a typical tensile strength of 95 MPa (13.8 ksi) against 76 MPa (11 ksi) for mPPE GF10 — about 25% more.
Which grade does FabDigit quote by default, GF10 or GF20?
UNF is the default mPPE condition in the FabDigit quote flow (neither GF10 nor GF20). The other condition is available on request or by drawing note — specify it in the material field or the part notes and the quote is priced for it.
Which is easier to machine, mPPE GF10 or mPPE GF20?
mPPE GF10. Its machinability rates good (65/100) against fair (50/100) for mPPE GF20.
