ZA-12-DC is ZA-12 supplied in the DC condition — highest strength and thinnest walls for high-volume parts; requires cold-chamber machines because of the 11% Al content. ZA-12-DC has a yield strength of 320 MPa (46.4 ksi) and a tensile strength of 400 MPa (58 ksi) — stronger than 100% of zinc alloy grades. Elongation at break is 5% and the elastic modulus is 83 GPa (12 Msi). ZA-12-DC has a density of 6.03 g/cm³ (0.218 lb/in³), lighter than 93% of zinc alloy grades. It melts at 377°C (711 °F). As Cast is the default condition FabDigit quotes; DC is available on request or by drawing note.
