Vero-MED
Properties of the MED condition, compared with the other Vero grades.
Use for surgical guides, hearing-aid shells and other parts with limited skin/mucosal contact where cytotoxicity/irritation certification is required.
What is Vero-MED?
Vero-MED is Vero in a MED certified grade — use for surgical guides, hearing-aid shells and other parts with limited skin/mucosal contact where cytotoxicity/irritation certification is required. Vero-MED has a tensile strength of 55 MPa (7.98 ksi), stronger than 60% of polymer grades. Elongation at break is 15% and the elastic modulus is 2.5 GPa (0.363 Msi). Vero-MED has a density of 1.18 g/cm³ (0.0426 lb/in³), heavier than 50% of polymer grades. Its glass-transition temperature is 53°C (127 °F). Vivid Colors is the default condition FabDigit quotes; MED is available on request or by drawing note.
Advantages
- Polishes to a fine finish — 70/100, better than 78% of polymer grades
Limitations
- Limited service temperature — 45°C (113 °F), worse than 98% of polymer grades
- Needs corrosion protection — 55/100, worse than 96% of polymer grades

Working with Vero-MED
Is Vero easy to machine?
Drills, taps and sands cleanly at low speed with sharp tools, but is notch-sensitive — avoid heavy cuts and heat build-up that softens material above ~50 °C.
Can Vero be welded?
Thermoset and non-weldable; join with cyanoacrylate, epoxy or UV-cure acrylic adhesives.
Can Vero be formed, bent or molded?
Not moldable or thermoformable — geometry is set by PolyJet jetting with SUP support; wall thicknesses down to ~0.6 mm and 14–32 µm layers are routine, and unsupported thin features should be oriented to limit warping.
What surface finishes work on Vero?
Support removal by water-jet/caustic soak, then sand and clear-lacquer or paint; Clear grades reach near-optical transparency after wet sanding plus clear coat, and a UV-blocking coating is recommended to slow yellowing.

Vero-MED — frequently asked
What is Vero-MED used for?
Vero-MED is typically used for visual and appearance models, multi-colour concept prototypes, assembly and fit verification parts, transparent flow-channel and fluid-path models, dental models and surgical planning models and rigid substrates for Agilus overmould prints. In short: multi-color PolyJet resin.
What is the tensile strength of Vero-MED?
Vero-MED has a typical tensile strength of 55 MPa (7.98 ksi) — stronger than 60% of polymer grades. Strength varies by condition: see the 5 listed tempers.
Is Vero-MED easy to machine?
Reasonably — machinability is rated good (55/100, worse than 63% of polymer grades). Drills, taps and sands cleanly at low speed with sharp tools, but is notch-sensitive — avoid heavy cuts and heat build-up that softens material above ~50 °C.
Can Vero-MED be welded?
Not readily — weldability is rated not recommended (5/100). Thermoset and non-weldable; join with cyanoacrylate, epoxy or UV-cure acrylic adhesives.
What surface finishes work on Vero-MED?
Support removal by water-jet/caustic soak, then sand and clear-lacquer or paint; Clear grades reach near-optical transparency after wet sanding plus clear coat, and a UV-blocking coating is recommended to slow yellowing.
Can Vero-MED be formed, bent or molded?
Not moldable or thermoformable — geometry is set by PolyJet jetting with SUP support; wall thicknesses down to ~0.6 mm and 14–32 µm layers are routine, and unsupported thin features should be oriented to limit warping.
What is the maximum service temperature of Vero-MED?
Vero-MED is rated for continuous use to about 45°C (113 °F), and briefly to 55°C. Strength falls off well before that limit — check the elevated-temperature data for load-bearing parts.
Can FabDigit make parts in Vero-MED?
